Zusatztipps für die Zubereitung

For easier decorating, consider using store-bought royal icing. This saves time and ensures consistent texture. Also, chilling the dough thoroughly improves the cookie shape and handles better when rolling. Use a toothpick for precise spreading of icing during flooding.

Varianten und Anpassungen

Swap black and yellow gel food coloring for natural alternatives if preferred, such as activated charcoal for black or turmeric for yellow. For different decoration styles, use various candy pearls or edible sprinkles for tassels. Cookies can be baked up to two days in advance and decorated the next day for best texture.

Serviervorschläge

Serve these graduation cap cookies alongside coffee or tea for a celebratory treat. They also make charming additions to dessert tables or gift boxes for graduates. Package them in clear cellophane bags tied with a ribbon to present as thoughtful favors.
